Healthy Date Bites

 

This recipe is sugar-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, grain-free, diabetic-friendly, vegan, keto-friendly, paleo-friendly, and a super healthy yet delicious alternative to store-bought chocolates!

Prep time: 10 mins 

Cooking time: 10 mins 

Refrigeration time: 40 to 60 minutes

Ingredients

5 dates

4 tbsp date paste

4 tbsp raw cacao powder

3 tbsp peanut butter

 ½ tsp vanilla essence

5-6 peanuts

3 tbsp almond milk

 

Method

  1. Start by cutting your date lengthwise, removing the pit and stuffing with smooth peanut butter and one peanut. 
  2. Make a thick chocolate sauce by mixing raw cacao powder, date paste, vanilla essence and almond milk in a saucepan over low heat. Keep stirring and cooking until everything comes together in a thick sauce-like consistency. 
  3. Drop in your stuffed dates in the sauce, one by one. Using a fork, roll and coat the date well with the sauce.
  4. Place the coated date on parchment paper to prevent chocolate from getting stuck and let allow it to cool. 
  5. Top with crushed peanuts and refrigerate for two hours. 
  6. Wait no longer, enjoy!
