Coleen Nolan has lost two stone in weight after after turning to a vegan diet – but admits missing one big thing.
The Loose Women panellist, who was born and raised in Blackpool, insisted that going on the plant based diet was “never about losing weight.”
The 56-year-old vocalist and television personality said she “feels better than ever” after enjoying the benefits of it and “can’t stop smiling”.
Coleen says the only thing she misses about her life before turning vegan is an occasional McDonald’s milkshake.
She joked that she was concerned she would “be in a mobility scooter before 60” if she didn’t lose weight as her “back and hips were bad”.
Speaking to Bella magazine, she said: “I feel much better than I’ve ever felt. I’ve changed my diet and had my teeth done, which I just love… I can’t stop smiling.
“Getting off the sofa was hard work.”
It was her 20-year-old daughter Ciara who inspired her to become vegan after showing her documentaries about the health benefits of the lifestyle.
Coleen, who was part of a singing group with her sisters The Nolans, thinks she has dropped two stone.
“She said: “I was 16 on top, but now I can get into a 14. With trousers, I was an 18-20 before, and now it’s more 14016.
“The weight loss was just a bonus. Me going vegan was never about losing weight.”
