Richmond to expand vegan breakfast range after massive success of sausages Leave a comment

Richmond is releasing a vegan bacon following the huge success of its meat-free sausages.

This means that plant-based eaters everywhere can enjoy a sausage and bacon sarnie, or even a full English with some mushrooms and tomatoes on the side – for a totally affordable price too.

Vegan Food & Living revealed that the Irish sausage brand is getting ready to launch the new meat-free smoked bacon in UK supermarkets in just a few days.

Owned by food giant Kerry, it describes them as “the tastiest, crispiest, meat-free bacon you’ll try”.

Made with soy protein, the rashers are lower in calories, salt, and saturated fat than conventional bacon.

They will be available at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Waitrose from Friday, May 28, retailing at £2.50 for a pack of eight rashers.

Victoria Southern, category and marketing director at Kerry Foods, told Totally Vegan Buzz: “We’ve worked incredibly hard and used all our expertise to develop a meat-free bacon that delivers on texture, flavour and crispiness, all of which are key sensory profiles that make bacon such a firm family favourite.

“We’re confident this launch will encourage even more shoppers to try plant-based versions of their favourite meals. No one can resist a classic bacon sandwich and now it’s possible to have a meat-free option that genuinely looks and tastes great!”

Richmond Meat-free bacon rashers will be available nationwide from 28th May, with an RSP of £2.50.
